The 14th International symposium on health-related water microbiology
Tokyo, September 9-15, 2007
The 14th International symposium on health-related water microbiology will be held in Tokyo, co-organized by IWA (International Water Association) and JSWE (Japan Society on Water Environment). This is a part of the series of international symposia organized biennially by the IWA study group on health-related water microbiology. The symposium is intended to cover all aspects of infectious disease via water. We, therefore, invite experts from a variety of fields to the symposium:
- environmental to clinical virology, bacteriology and parasitology
- infectious diseases epidemiology to risk assessment methodology
- water treatment engineering to environmental health practice
Specific Topics to be covered include:
・Water pollution and diseases
・Microbe behavior in water environment
・Detection, identification, and source tracking of microbial contaminants
・Catchment protection
・Water/wastewater treatment and disinfection
・Biofilm studies
・Water reuse and reclamation
・Microbial risk assessment and management
・Water and sanitation in developing countries
